ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton called on Congress to reconvene in order to pass a bill to fund additional money to combat the Zika virus on Tuesday (August 09). Clinton made the comments during a visit to the Borinquen Medical Center in Miami, which has treated over a dozen cases of Zika infection. Clinton's call for Congress to address the outbreak came as Florida announced that four new cases had been diagnosed in Miami. "I am very disappointed that the Congress went on recess before actually agreeing on what they would do to put the resources into this fight," Clinton said. "I would very much urge the leadership of congress to call people back for a special session and get a bill passed," she added. Also on Tuesday, the death of an infant born with the birth defect microcephaly that is caused by Zika was announced in Texas . The mosquito-borne virus has been linked to a spike in microcephaly in Brazil. The Zika outbreak first came to light last fall in Brazil and has spread rapidly in the Americas.
