This is the neighborhood in Sirte under Islamic State control. And these are the Libyan forces keeping their sights set on capturing it. After three months of intense fighting, the forces say they are close to taking the city. U.S. air strikes this month helped accelerate that progress, which had been slowed by suicide bombings, snipers and mines. IS took control of the city last year and enforced its ultra-hardline rule on residents. Losing the city would be a major blow for the group, though militants elsewhere are expected to keep trying to exploit the country's political turmoil and keep Libya in chaos.
