The late Tejano superstar Selena Quintanilla has been immortalised with a wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Hollywood. The singer was only 23-years old when she was shot and killed by the president of her fan club in 1995. Selena's parents, husband and siblings were on hand for the unveiling. SOUNDBITE (English) SISTER, SUZETTE QUINTANILLA, SAYING: "It's amazing, I'm so honoured and I'm so excited, so many different emotions actually that went on whenever we actually saw her, we want to cry, you're kind of freaking out, you're admiring her, you miss her, you know, how can you not?" Selena's loyal fans had petitioned for the creation of the wax figure, which cost $350,000. SOUNDBITE (English) FAN, STORM VELEZ, SAYING: "Because she is an icon and she deserves it and it's really nice to see her there because she has made her mark in music, so she deserves to be in the icon's room with Michael Jackson and Elton John." Selena's killer was found guilty of first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison. She'll become eligible for parole in March 2025.
