House Speaker Paul Ryan laid out his business plan for the United States at the Economic Club of New York. (SOUNDBITE) PAUL D. RYAN, SPEAKER OF THE U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, (ENGLISH) SAYING: "We're tackling the big problems. National security, poverty, the economy, restoring the constitution and self-government, healthcare, tax reform." Ryan proposed new tax code reform, saying it would result in job creation. Other topics included Medicare, Social Security, and overhauling Affordable Care Act. Peter Kenny of Global Markets Advisory Group (SOUNDBITE) PETER KENNY, SENIOR MARKET STRATEGIST, GLOBAL MARKETS ADVISORY GROUP, (ENGLISH) SAYING: "I'd have to go back to Ronald Reagan for this. To a large extent, his programs have a very good chance of working in terms of slowing down the growth of the national debt, increasing the revenue to the federal government, making U.S. corporations, U.S. - based corporations, more competitive from a tax-basis stand point. These are all things that can work and have worked in the past. The question is, can these principles, these economic principles that he discuses, or outlined today in New York, really have the chance to see the light of day." Ryan also indirectly re-iterated his support for Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump.
