ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) U.S vice presidential candidates Tim Kaine and Mike Pence had a message for voters ahead of the first presidential debate, a highly anticipated showdown between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump. Both VP candidates were on the campaign trail, telling supporters why they think their respective running mate will win the debate. Kaine said Trump "can't hide" during the first presidential debate in Hempstead, New York. "The thing about 90 minutes is well you can't hide. Donald Trump likes to say you know I'm going to build this wall but then I'm not taking any questions about it. OK. Well you've got 90 minutes and there just a moderator and two of you on stage. You can run but you can't hide," Kaine told supporters at a rally in Lakeland, Florida. Mike Pence told supporters in Milford, New Hampshire that Monday's debate will be the first time both candidates will face off with no "media filters or parsing of words." He said his running mate offers, "broad shouldered leadership that will make America great again."
