Hurricane Matthew is bearing down on Haiti with life-threatening rain and winds that could wreck havoc in the Caribbean nation. The National Hurricane Centre said the storm is expected to make landfall late on Monday. An evacuation order is in effect, but in at least one coastal town, about 2,000 people have refused to leave.
