ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION). U.S. President Barack Obama told reporters on Monday (November 14) that he will tell European leaders during his foreign trip that incoming president Donald Trump is committed to the military alliance. Early in his campaign, Trump had said that the U.S. might not meet its obligations to the alliance, but later reversed course and said he would work closely with NATO to defeat the Islamic State. Obama's trip to Europe will be his last as the U.S. head of state. He will work to reassure U.S. allies that national policies will remain steady despite Trump's upset victory.
