ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION). STORY: Mourners gathered in Banie in north-west Poland on Friday (December 30) for the burial of Polish truck driver Lukasz Urban who was killed in the attack on a Berlin Christmas market. The funeral procession made the journey from the church to the cemetery in Urban's home town lead by priests and a cross bearer. The burial was attended by Polish president Andrzej Duda and Beata Kempa, the head of the prime minister's cabinet. Urban's family members including his wife, Zuzanna and his teenage son Adam placed roses on the coffin as it was lowered into the grave. Urban had been a truck driver for some 15 years, working for his cousin's company based in Sobiemysl near the Polish-German border. Twelve people were killed and 48 injured in the attack on a Berlin Christmas market on Monday (December 19). The body of Urban was found in the truck. Urban was shot in the head several hours before the attack and could not have attempted to foil it, Bild newspaper reported on Tuesday (December 27). The newspaper quoted a confidential coroners report that said driver Urban had suffered not only knife wounds in a battle in the truck cabin but also a gun shot wound to the head some 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 hours before the 8 p.m. attack.
