Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, ahead of a visit to the White House next week-- taking to Twitter to express his outrage with President Donald Trump's plans to build a wall. In a video posted Wednesday night Peña Nieto said "I regret and condemn the United States' decision to continue with the construction of a wall that, for years now, far from uniting us, divides us." This comes after Trump signed an executive order Wednesday to beef up border control and start construction on a new wall between the 2 countries. Pena Nieto adding: "Mexico does not believe in walls. I've said time again; Mexico will not pay for any wall." Many in Mexico are furious over the timing of Trump's actions, with top Mexican officials currently meeting with the Trump administration-- and Pena Nieto set to visit Washington next week-- a trip he is considering canceling, according to media reports - But Mexico's Foreign Minister tells Reuters the meeting is still on 'for now'. Trump's verbal attacks on Mexico have put Pena Nieto under rising domestic pressure to react. His approval ratings are at the lowest level of any Mexican president in years. Peña Nieto closed his video message on a peaceful note, saying, "Mexico offers its friendship to the people of the United States and expresses its wish to arrive at agreements with its government, deals that will be in favor of Mexico and the Mexicans."
