The unfavourable conditions threatened to stop the championships, held every two years, from going ahead. Hard work by track staff enabled one run out of the scheduled two in each category to go ahead and the titles were awarded on that run. Austria's Rupert Breuggler and Tobias Angerer adapted best to the soft conditions to win the doubles title, their second as they had scooped the team title the day before. In the men's singles it was Alex Gruber of Italy who won the title from Russia's Juri Talikh. The women's title went to Italy's Greta Pinggera, just 0.17 seconds faster than her team mate Evelin Lanthaler, the reigning world champion. Official results: DOUBLES 1.
