ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Belarus extradited Israeli-Russian blogger Alexander Lapshin to Azerbaijan on Tuesday (February 8) after the Belarussian supreme court denied his appeal the day earlier. Lapshin had been arrested in Minsk on December 15 last year on the request of Azerbaijan where he is wanted for travelling to the Armenian-controlled parts of disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, which Azerbaijan considers its sovereign territory and for criticising the country's President Ilham Aliyev and his policy. The 40-year-old popular blogger holds dual Russian-Israeli citizenship, and has spent past years travelling between Israel and other countries, including Azerbaijan. Russia and Israel have tried to prevent his extradition and contacted both Azeri and Belarussian officials, but with no success.
