ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION French centrist Emmanuel Macron, a frontrunner in the Presidential election, chose the southern city of Marseille to press on with his campaign on Saturday (April 1) in a race which was looking tighter between his main rival, far-right leader Marine Le Pen. Macron called on the 5000 supporters present in Marseille to work on beating the National Front and "kick it out" of the race. Macron and Le Pen are neck-and-neck at the top of the opinion polls ahead of the first round of presidential voting on April 23. Conservative candidate Francois Fillon is in third place. Such an outcome would put Le Pen and Macron through to a second round runoff on May 7 which the polls say Macron would win.
