David Pantoja's family are packing the few things they have left in mudslide-hit Mocoa. Most of their possessions are gone, and soon, they'll be gone too, taking only memories and mementos with them. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) LOCAL RESIDENT, DAVID PANTOJA, SAYING: "The whole town has been destroyed, everyone is leaving, it is a total loss. So we have to leave and find shelter somewhere else." The devastating mudslide roared through the city over the weekend, killing 286 people and uprooting homes, rocks, and trees along the way. President Juan Manuel Santos is promising a full recovery so that Mocoa and Putumayo end up better than before the disaster. Shelters have filled across the city as families desperate for help await their next steps. Some await information on those still missing. David Pantoja, says compared to them, he's lucky. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) LOCAL RESIDENT, DAVID PANTOJA, SAYING: "My son and daughter's houses were swept away completely, but thank God all my family came out of it alive."
