ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Farmers in central provinces joined in an annual racing competition on Sunday (April 23) with their modified farm tractors, which is usually held before the upcoming farming period. With their specially designed rice tractors to boost engine power, the farmers race in pairs to find the winner. Some farmers said the muddy-soaked motor racing is challenging as it requires unique skills. In the rice paddies of rural Thailand, millions of farmers rely each day on their 'iron buffalo' the long-handled, multi-purpose tractors which are used for everything from ploughing fields to carrying heavy produce or even as engines for water pumps and rice mills.
