ROUGH CUT - NATURAL (NO REPORTER NARRATION) International Space Station astronauts Peggy Whitson and Jack Fischer embarked on Friday (May 12) on the station's historic 200th spacewalk since its construction in 1998. Their mission included replacing several pieces of hardware outside the station as well as installing a new high-definition camera. The walk is Whitson's ninth and is Fischer's first. The first spacewalk took place December 7th, 1998. That's when NASA astronauts Jerry Ross and Jim Newman attached and outfitted the Russian Zarya and U.S. Unity modules. At the time, the ISS was considered one of the most ambitious and expensive engineering feats ever undertaken.
