SHOWS: PARIS, FRANCE (MAY 15, 2017) (FRENCH POOL - ACCESS ALL) 1. (SOUNDBITE) (English) IOC EVALUATION COMMISSION CHAIRMAN, PATRICK BAUMANN, SAYING: "These venues here have a different history to those over there (Los Angeles) but they are equally mindblowing if you want to take that particular adjective because they have also their own history which we've seen not only because of the buildings and what they are but through the eyes of those that competed there." 2. WHITE FLASH 3. (SOUNDBITE) (English) IOC EVALUATION COMMISSION CHAIRMAN, PATRICK BAUMANN, SAYING: "We've had extensive discussions on security in both cities. It is not a concern. It's a must, to discuss this topic. It's a must because we want the Olympic games, wherever these are, to be a safe place for athletes and for the spectators." STORY: Paris 2024's Olympic bid committee showed off the city's potential sites on Monday (May 14) to the International Olympic Commitee's (IOC) Evaluation Committee who are weighing up its bid to host the games. The committee, fronted by Chairman Patrick Baumann, visited sites including the Saint-Denis stadium and the planned Olympic village, as well as the Grand Palais museum which would host taekwondo and fencing if the French capital is picked. Paris is competing with Los Angeles to host the games, whose bid was assessed by the IOC evaluation commission earlier this week. Baumann praised the infrastructure and organisation of both cities and played down security fears in the French capital after the country has seen a number of militant attacks on its soil in recent years. The final IOC vote will be held on Sept. 13 in Lima.
