Former FBI director Robert Mueller getting positive reviews on the streets of New York. The Justice Department chose him to investigate whether Russians tried to interfere with the U.S. presidential election and probe alleged ties of President Donald Trump's campaign team to Moscow. Trump called Mueller's investigation the 'greatest witch hunt' in U.S. history and denied any wrongdoing. But New Yorkers praised Mueller's appointment. (SOUNDBITE) MARIE SMITH, (ENGLISH) SAYING: "The people that they had, you know, leading the investigation before, I think that there's probably some conflicts of interest there. Even if it's just to give the appearance of impartiality, it's good to have someone else come in, who is not as connected to the administration, and have them lead the investigation. You don't want an investigation tainted. You don't want people thinking that there is, you know, a cover up or some sort of collusion going on. So, I think, it's good that they brought in a special prosecutor." (SOUNDBITE) GENE KESHYAN (ENGLISH) SAYING: "I think he's had the trust of previous presidents for over a decade. I think that he is an impartial party and there's no cause for concern for any Republican or Democrat to say it's unfair. I think it's a very fair pick." Mueller's investigation will run in parallel to two others by the FBI and the U.S. Congress.
