ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords attended a ceremony in Galveston, Texas, on Saturday (June 10) to commission a U.S. Navy combat ship that was named after her. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and former Vice President Joe Biden's wife Jill also attended the event. In January 2011, Giffords was shot in the head when a gunman opened fire on a congressional outreach event in Tucson, killing six people and wounding a dozen others. Giffords resigned from Congress a year after the shooting to focus on her recovery. Her husband Mark Kelly, who is a retired Navy combat veteran and NASA astronaut, stood by Gifford at Saturday's ceremony.
