Australian comedian-turned-actress Rebel Wilson has won a defamation suit against global magazine publishes Bauer Media, which alleged she had lied about her age, name and childhood experiences. Kate King reports.

Australian comedian Rebel Wilson ensuring she has the last laugh. Victoria's Supreme Court ruling in her favour in a defamation suit against a global magazine publisher. SOUNDBITE (English) COMEDIAN, REBEL WILSON, SAYING: "I felt that I had to take a stand. I had to stand up to a bully, a huge media organisation, Bauer Media Group, who maliciously took me down in May 2015 with a series of grubby and completely false articles." The articles claimed Wilson had lied about her age, childhood experiences and even her real name. During the three-week trial the entertainer said those stories resulted in her being sacked from two feature films - and ruined her Hollywood career. SOUNDBITE (English) COMEDIAN, REBEL WILSON, SAYING: "I'm glad, very glad that the jury has agreed with me and by the unanimous overwhelming verdict, they have sent a very, very clear message." The level of damages to be decided at a later date. Bauer Media now said to be considering its options.
