SHOWS: AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND (JULY 8, 2017) (TVNZ - Broadcasters: NO ACCESS NEW ZEALAND Digital: NO ACCESS NEW ZEALAND INTERNET SITES / ANY INTERNET SITE OF ANY NEW ZEALAND OR AUSTRALIAN BASED MEDIA ORGANISATIONS OR MOBILE PLATFORMS) 1. (SOUNDBITE) (English) NEW ZEALAND ALL BLACKS COACH STEVE HANSEN, SAYING: "It's been a fantastic three match series and both teams have played their hearts out and it's come down to the wire and we've ended up with a hand on the trophy each which is a bit like kissing your sister -- there's not a lot in it for anybody. At the same time I think it's been a wonderful advertisement for rugby, the rugby that was played by both sides." 2. WHITE FLASH 3. BRITISH AND IRISH LIONS COACH WARREN GATLAND ENTERING NEWS CONFERENCE WEARING CLOWN NOSE 4. (SOUNDBITE) (English) BRITISH AND IRISH LIONS COACH WARREN GATLAND, SAYING: "For us, to come here to New Zealand against the back-to-back world champions and draw a series is an unbelievable achievement considering that we were completely written off. Everyone was talking about this being a 3-0 whitewash and this group of players have shown unbelievable character." STORY: The British and Irish Lions held the All Blacks to a tense and dramatic 15-15 draw in the third test on Saturday (July 8) to share a series that few had expected them to come so close to winning. All Blacks coach Steve Hansen hailed what he described as a fantastic series, but reflected post-match that a draw "is a bit like kissing your sister -- there's not a lot in it for anybody". Lions coach Warren Gatland entered his news conference wearing a clown nose, a reposte to a New Zealand Herald newspaper cartoon published earlier in the series which depicted the coach in clown garb. "I think for us to come here against the back-to-back world champions and draw the series is an unbelievable achievement, especially when we had been written off and everyone was talking about this being a 3-0 whitewash," said Gatland. It was only the second drawn series in more than a century of Lions tours, the 1955 tourists also shared a series with the Springboks, and Hansen suggested it was not an unreasonable conclusion.
