Big recall for VW & China partners over airbags

Volkswagen AG and its Chinese joint ventures FAW-Volkswagen and SAIC Volkswagen will recall 4.86 million vehicles in China due to potential issues with Takata Corp air bags. As Laura Frykberg reports, its a new blow to the carmaker in the world's largest auto market.

Another blow for troubled Volkswagen. The German automaker and its Chinese joint ventures, have been ordered to recall more than 4.8 million vehicles in China. Containing air bags made by the now bankrupt Japanese firm, Takata. Around 20 million cars across the country contain the product, which has been linked to at least 16 deaths, after being found to potentially explode with too much force, and spray shrapnel. Leading to the biggest recall in automotive history. VW says there have been no problems prompting this latest recall. But Chinese authorities say the fault could occur in rare cases.
