A deadly blaze at an Islamic boarding school in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, has killed at least 25 people, mostly students. Authorities say the blaze broke out in a dormitory early on Thursday (September 14), but so far the cause is unknown. About a dozen people were pulled to safety from the burning building and several were taken to a nearby hospital. This type of school usually houses students between the ages of 5 and 18 and teaches them to memorise the Koran. That means they're unregulated by the board of education and fall under the responsibility of the country's religious department. Such schools have come under scrutiny since earlier this year after an 11-year-old boy died after alleged abuse.
