UK wins inaugural FootGolf European championship

The United Kingdom held off France to win the first ever FootGolf European Team Championships at the Chateau Golf d'Augerville just outside Paris on Sunday

VARIOUS OF UK TEAM WITH TROPHY STORY: The United Kingdom won the inaugural FootGolf European Team Championships beating France at the Chateau Golf d'Augerville just outside Paris on Sunday (September 17). Karl May claimed the trophy for Team UK with the final kick of the tournament on the 18th green to beat Frenchman Alexander Richer. Richer, the 2016 French FootGolf Champion had a chance to force the tournament into a playoff but his 18th hole final Put/Kick hit the flag and bounced out of to leave May with just a simple tap-in to win the tournament. Eight nations qualified for FootGolf's equivalent of the European Championship; the United Kingdom, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Spain and host nation France.
