Betfair, which is backing Ferdinand, released a clip on Tuesday showing the 38 year-old former Manchester United and England defender training in a boxing ring. "This challenge is the perfect opportunity to show people what's possible. It's a challenge I'm not taking lightly," Rio said in the written statement released by Betfair. The betting company said it will help Ferdinand qualify for a boxing license before he starts competing for a title belt. Ferdinand held a news conference later on Tuesday in London to formally announce his move to professional boxing.
