Despite dimming hopes of finding more survivors, the rescue operations in Mexico continue, Friday. In the Roma neighborhood of Mexico City, residents who slept in tents await news of their loved ones… as volunteers, including a team of Japanese rescuers with sniffer dogs -- frantically search for life under the rubble of a collapsed building. Many residents are homeless following the 7.1 magnitude quake that devastated the area, Tuesday, leveling some 52 buildings in the capital. The death toll has exceeded 280. On Thursday, Mexico's Navy apologized for passing along the story of a schoolgirl, supposedly trapped in a Mexico city building. Her story captivated a devastated nation… until the truth came out. There was no such girl. STILL, there are many others unaccounted for across the country. And the risk of a housing shortage is looming… as politicians and aid groups scramble to pool funds to help the relief efforts.
