MEDIA AT NEWS CONFERENCE 3. (SOUNDBITE) (English) ENGLAND MANAGER, GARETH SOUTHGATE, SAYING: "He's captain for tomorrow which he knew a month ago so we'd already had that conversation. He's certainly somebody whose leadership qualities are invaluable to us as a team. He's clearly in a very good moment as well, in terms of his form. I'm sure he'll speak about what it means to him but we're really enjoying working with him. I've obviously known him a long time but he's improving and maturing all the time too." 4. ENGLAND STRIKER AND CAPTAIN FOR SLOVENIA MATCH HARRY KANE TRAINING 5. ENGLAND PLAYERS TRAINING 6. KANE TRAINING STORY: England striker Harry Kane said on Wednesday (October 4) he is confident he will not be weighed down by the added responsibility of being named captain for Thursday's (October 5) World Cup qualifier against Slovenia at Wembley. Kane, who scored 13 goals for club and country last month, said England had plenty of leaders in the side irrespective of who wore the armband. Southgate has yet to name a permanent captain of the team and Kane, who has filled in on a couple of occasions, said it did not matter as long as everyone kept working together. England need one win from their two remaining matches to seal top spot in Group F and automatic qualification for next year's World Cup in Russia. Southgate's men travel to Lithuania for their final qualifier on Sunday.
