888 secures Malta licence, establishes Ireland server ahead of Brexit

March 12 (Reuters) - British online gambling company 888 Holdings Plc said on Tuesday that it secured a gaming licence in Malta and established a server in Ireland to mitigate a potential disruption from Brexit.

888 became the second gambling company after GVC Holdings Plc to relocate servers hosting online gambling platforms to Ireland.

The company posted an 11 percent increase in adjusted pretax profit to $86.7 million for the year ended Dec. 31. (Reporting by Sangameswaran S in Bengaluru Editing by Saumyadeb Chakrabarty)
