MADRID, Feb 7 (Reuters) - Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello has been warned by the Spanish government’s Anti-violence Commission about his post-match comments on the club’s radical Ultra Sur fans following his side’s 1-0 defeat to Levante on Sunday.
“The jeers from the crowd were justified but I would like to thank the Ultras for their support,” the 60-year-old Italian told a news conference when asked about the crowd reaction after his side’s defeat at the Bernabeu.
The commission said on Wednesday it had agreed to send Capello “a letter lamenting his comments praising the Ultra Sur because of the possible negative consequences this attitude could have.”
The behaviour of Ultra groups of fans has come under the microscope after a policeman was killed in riots at a Serie A derby in Sicily between Catania and Palermo last Friday.
