Feb 21 (Reuters) - Dutch chipmaker ASM International said on Thursday that its fourth-quarter order intake totalled a record high 301.6 million euros ($342 million), well above its forecast, as well as a better-than-expected revenue.
It said its fourth-quarter revenues totalled 254.7 million euros and it forecast revenues of 225 million-245 million euros in the first quarter of 2019 and 200 million-230 million euros in the second quarter.
The company said its normalised net earnings totalled 46.1 million euros for the fourth quarter, up from a restated 36.6 million euros a year earlier.
It also said it expects this year to outperform the market for wafer fabrication equipment, which it said will decline by a mid to high teens percentage according to general expectations. ($1 = 0.8829 euros) (Reporting by Zuzanna Szymanska in Gdynia; Editing by Susan Fenton)
