Elliott wants BHP to remain Australia-incorporated

SYDNEY, May 16 (Reuters) - Elliott Management on Tuesday revised its proposal for an overhaul of BHP Billiton’s corporate structure, calling for the mining giant to remain incorporated in Australia.

Elliott’s revised proposal follows weeks of canvassing BHP shareholders for their views.

It also said it had “deep-rooted support” among BHP shareholders for a review of BHP’s U.S. petroleum business.
