Brazil probe says more evidence of foreign role in graft schemes

RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug 18 (Reuters) - Brazilian investigators said on Friday they were finding more evidence that foreign companies were involved in a political graft scheme that saw the firms bribe executives at state-run enterprises and politicians to win government contracts.

At a press conference detailing allegations that U.S-based asphalt maker Sargeant Marine Inc and six Greek shipping companies were involved in the scheme, federal police and prosecutors said they expect to soon target more foreign firms. They did not provide further details on which companies were being investigated. (Reporting by Pedro Fonseca; Editing by Andrew Hay)
