BRF says Brazil fiscal burden making it harder to compete

SAO PAULO, Aug 30 (Reuters) - BRF SA, the world’s largest chicken exporter, sees internationalization as the best way to grow its business while believing that Brazil’s heavy fiscal burden hampers the firm’s ability to compete globally, an executive said on Wednesday.

BRF Brazil Vice President Alexandre Almeida said that the company is in favor of rigorous food inspection standards, following the Weak Flesh probe in the country that alleged inspectors were bribed to ignore lapses in food standards. (Reporting by Ana Mano, writing by Jake Spring)
