* Says has notified physicians of updates to its implantable pacemakers and defibrillators

* Says new device updates include a battery performance alert for implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDS)

* Says battery performance alert for ICDS provides physicians with earlier warning of potential for low risk of premature battery depletion

* Says new device updates include planned update to pacemaker firmware to add protections to reduce risk of unauthorized access to pacemakers

* Says there have been no reports of unauthorized access to any patient’s implanted device
