BRIEF-China interbank assets, liabilities shrink in Q2 for first time since 2010 - regulator

Aug 18 (Reuters) - China Banking Regulatory Commission said in a press conference on Friday:

* China’s interbank assets and liabilities both shrank in Q2 for the first time since 2010

* Both interbank assets and interbank liabilities were reduced by 1.8 trillion yuan ($269.52 billion) in the first half of the year

* The scale of China banks’ wealth management products was at 28.4 trillion yuan at end-June ($1 = 6.6786 Chinese yuan) (Reporting by Beijing Monitoring Desk)
