Aug 24 (Reuters) - Moody’s Investors Service:

* Moody’s annual credit analysis report - U.S. supported by robust strengths despite fiscal challenges

* Says the United States does face important credit challenges, particularly with regard to its fiscal position

* Says rising entitlements spending underscore importance of effective fiscal policy for U.S. credit profile in the years ahead

* Says negative pressure on U.S.’s credit profile could grow if fiscal policy appears unlikely to stem forthcoming deterioration in debt and interest burden‍

* Says stable outlook on U.S.’s rating reflects view that debt ceiling will be raised, and even if not, probability of U.S. missing a debt payment is low

* Says U.S. rating sustained by dynamic competitive economy, role U.S. Dollar plays in global financial markets, deepest and most liquid government bond market

* Says in absence of policies to offset rise in age-related entitlement spending or raise government revenues significantly, U.S. debt will rise in coming years

* Says even if U.S. government takes action to stabilize debt ratio, cost of servicing debt will consume "ever-greater portion of total expenditures" Source text:
