BRIEF-Norway approves $297 mln investment plan for Ekofisk South

Sept 7 (Reuters) -

* Norway’s Oil Ministry approves NOK 2.3 billion ($297 million) investment plan for Ekofisk South field in the North Sea

* The operator estimates the project will provide additional resources for the Ekofisk field of 17 million barrels of oil equivalents

* The new seabed frame and associated wells are expected to come into operation in the fourth quarter of 2018
