BRIEF-Telenor says third-party provider to handle share buybacks

Aug 30 (Reuters) - Telenor Asa

* Telenor enters into share buyback agreement concerning the company’s 2017-2018 share buy-back programme. The programme comprises up to 30 million shares, of which some 13.8 million will be repurchased in the market

* Has put in place a non-discretionary programme for repurchase of up to 13,810,438 of its ordinary shares

* Programme will be managed by a third party, which will make its trading decisions in relation to shares independently of, and uninfluenced by, telenor

* This may result in telenor buying shares through periods where company otherwise would have been restricted
