Britain's Centrica seeks judicial review of regulator's price cap

LONDON, Dec 21 (Reuters) - Centrica owner of Britain’s largest energy supplier British Gas, said it is seeking a judicial review of the way regulator Ofgem has calculated part of its price cap, although it does not plan to delay implementing the cap.

The cap is due to take effect from Jan. 1 and is expected to save UK households around 1 billion pounds ($1.3 billion) a year.

“Through this action Centrica has no intention to delay implementation of the cap, and does not expect the cap to be deferred in any way,” Centrica said in a statement.
