Amber Infrastructure, Mayor of London launch energy efficiency fund

LONDON, July 9 (Reuters) -

* Amber Infrastructure Group and the Mayor of London have launched a 500 million pound ($666 million) fund for energy efficiency investment in public buildings and small businesses, the asset manager said on Monday

* The Mayor’s Energy Efficiency Fund will provide funding for new low-carbon technology or upgrades to existing low-carbon infrastructure for up to 20 years

* Funding could be used for battery storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, decentralised energy, small-scale renewables, energy efficiency, and low-carbon data centres, Amber Infrastructure Group said in a statement

* The funding is also open to small businesses and energy service companies operating across London ($1 = 0.7503 pounds) (Reporting by Nina Chestney)
