CANADA STOCKS-TSX ends flat as energy fall outweighs miner gains

TORONTO, Aug 21 (Reuters) - Canada’s main stock index ended flat on Monday as sharp jumps in mining stocks were offset by equally steep declines in energy companies, as copper and other metal prices rose and oil prices fell.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index unofficially closed down 0.45 points, or 0.00 percent, at 14,951.88. (Reporting by Alastair Sharp; Editing by Meredith Mazzilli)
