China will crack down on illegal public fund raising - regulator

BEIJING, Aug 7 (Reuters) - China’s banking and insurance regulator said on Tuesday it would crack down on various financial crimes to clean up financial markets and safeguard order in society.

The campaign will focus on firms which are illegally taking deposits from the public and using illegal means to collect debts, the regulator said on its website. (Reporting by Beijing Monitoring Desk; Editing by Kim Coghill)
