China April rare earth exports fall 22% on month

BEIJING, May 7 (Reuters) - China’s rare earth exports fell 22.2% month-on-month in April, customs data showed on Thursday, easing from a spike in March that saw ports clear shipments held up by coronavirus-related curbs on transport.

Shipments totalled 4,316.7 tonnes last month, the General Administration of Customs said, down from 5,551.4 tonnes in March, which was the highest monthly figure in records going back to June 2014, and down 0.3% from a year earlier. (Reporting by Tom Daly; Editing by Clarence Fernandez)
