    COMMEMORATION: The Czech Republic and Slovakia mark the 50th
anniversary of the Soviet-led invasion which crushed attempts of
the Communist party to reform the regime in 1968. A ceremony at
the Czech Radio building that was occupied takes place at 11:00
a.m. (0900 GMT). Prime Minister Andrej Babis will attend.
    BONDS: The Czech Finance Ministry will offer up to 16
billion crowns ($712.63 million) worth of domestic government
bonds in four primary auctions in September, maintaining a
reduced pace of issuance after heavy borrowing in the first half
of the year.

    ELECTRIC CARS: Since 2009, a total of 1,788 electric cars
have been sold in the country, including 387 last year and a
record 396 so far this year. 
    The newspaper estimated around 2,000 electric cars use up to
6 GWh of electricity per year, which is equal to about 0.01
percent of the country's overall consumption.

    MINIMUM WAGE: The labour ministry is proposing setting the
minimum wage at half the average national wage from two years
previous, starting from 2020. 
    The average monthly salary rose in the first quarter to
30,265 crowns ($1,347.99), which would mean a jump in the
minimum wage to above 15,000 crowns in 2020 from the current
level of 12,000 crowns.
