Bundesbank keen on quick phasing out of ECB's bond purchases

FRANKFURT, Aug 28 (Reuters) - The Bundesbank is keen on a quick phasing out of the European Central Bank’s massive purchases of euro zone government bonds in light of their “serious side-effects”, a director at the German institution said on Monday.

“For the Bundesbank, it is especially important to let the purchases of government bonds run out quickly due to their particularly serious side effects,” Joachim Wuermeling, a member of the Bundesbank’s board said. (Reporting By Francesco Canepa, editing by Larry King)
