UPDATE 1-Norway Jan oil output just up to 2.19 mln bpd

(Adds full year 2007 figures, details)

OSLO, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Norway’s oil production rose to a preliminary 2.186 million barrels per day on average in January from a revised 2.168 million in December, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said on Wednesday.

Production of natural gas liquids (NGL) and condensate fell to a preliminary 0.358 million barrels per day in January from 0.365 million barrels per day in December, the directorate said in a statement.

“In 2007 the average daily production has been just above 2.2 million barrels of oil,” the government agency said.

Norway’s total production last year reached 238.0 million standard cubic metres of oil equivalent -- or 10.8 million less than in 2006.

Production of natural gas rose by 2.1 billion cubic metres to 89.7 billion in 2007, while oil output fell by 8.3 million standard cubic metres to 128.3 million, highlighting Norway’s gradual switch from an oil to a gas exporter.

But the directorate said that in December Norway’s two biggest new gas projects -- Snoehvit and Ormen Lange -- were shut for 31 and eight days, respectively, due to technical problems. (Reporting by Wojciech Moskwa, editing by Anthony Barker)
