Independence natgas hub in US Gulf shut for work

NEW YORK, Nov 15 (Reuters) - Enterprise Products Partners (EPD.N) said on Monday that its Independence natural gas platform in the Gulf of Mexico was shut over the weekend for scheduled maintenance.

“There’s some scheduled maintenance going on at the hub. Work began over the weekend, and it’s projected to last about five days,” company spokesman Rick Rainey said.

Rainey said the platform, which was flowing about 500 million cubic feet per day of gas, should be back in operation by Wednesday.

He had no details on the type of work being done. (Reporting by Joe Silha; Editing by Dale Hudson)
