French minister: remains to be seen whether French red lines met in Mercosur deal

PARIS, July 2 (Reuters) - France said on Tuesday that while a draft trade deal between the European Union and the Mercosur group of South American countries provided opportunities for European exporters, it remained to be seen whether it met France’s demands.

“The red lines we have drawn for the agreement are firm,” Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian told parliament.

He said it “remained to be seen” whether Paris would support it, when it examined the details of the agreement. (Reporting by John Irish; Editing by Sudip Kar-Gupta)
