Oct 9 (Reuters) - UK-based EWM Group, owner of Edinburgh Woollen Mills, Peacock’s and Jaeger brands, said on Friday it will appoint FRP Advisory as administrators to restructure its business, making it the latest retailer to succumb to the impact of the COVID-19 crisis.
The company’s statement did not mention how many employees would be impacted, but Sky News reported the move puts 24,000 jobs at risk.
“Like every retailer, we have found the past seven months extremely difficult,” EWM Chief Executive Officer Steve Simpson said.
