PARIS, April 26 (Reuters) - French consumer confidence held steady in April at an eight-month high, the official INSEE statistics agency said on Friday.
INSEE said its consumer confidence index was unchanged from March at 96 points, the highest reading since August last year. A Reuters poll of 13 economists had an average forecast for 97 points.
Households’ concerns about the general economic situation in the next 12 months deteriorated slightly to its lowest level since January, while concerns about unemployment also rose.
Meanwhile, concerns about households’ financial situations over the next 12 months were at their lowest since August 2017, while the number saying it was a good time to save spare cash was at its highest since April 2015.
