G7 finance leaders voice scepticism over Libra -Japan finmin

CHANTILLY, France, July 17 (Reuters) - Japan’s Finance Minister Taro Aso said on Wednesday that various voices of scepticism over Facebook Inc’s Libra digital currency surfaced at a gathering of Group of Seven (G7) finance leaders.

“A digital currency like Libra could lower remittance costs, so there are some benefits to users,” Aso told reporters after the first day of a two-day G7 finance leaders’ meeting that ends on Thursday. “I told my G7 colleagues that focusing too much on such conveniences could lead to big problems in the long run,” he added.
